Complex Trauma Canada is an educational and advocacy organization focused on reforming the norms of identification of trauma, treatment of traumatic experiences, for the purposes of stopping inter-generational trauma for children. CTC assists those who have been traumatized by
Adverse Childhood Experiences, and negative psychological experiences in adolescent years and adulthood. Our efforts are aimed at legal reform of Political Policy to support Children of Separated Families, Indigenous Youth, Members of the Canadian Armed Forces, and those who have experienced institutional traumas at the hands of the Family Law Courts or the Criminal Law Courts.
While CTC does not directly provide 1:1 assistance to Trauma Survivors, we understand the need for such assistance, and provide a host of Peer Support Programs led by professional facilitators. To help Trauma Survivors get the support they might need, CTC has joined other Trauma service providers and advocacy groups to participate in the Complex Trauma Canada Benefits Program (CTCBP).
The Complex Trauma Canada Benefits Program is structured so that the affiliated organizations through which one joins the program receive a small share of members’ fees. CTC is very conscious of the economic strains that many trauma survivors experience, especially while engaged in legal battles. CTC wants to avoid even the appearance of trying to profit off of the misery our legal system imposes on many families. Accordingly, we pledge that 100% of any revenues CTC receives from the CTCBP will be committed to funding Trauma Research and Resources for Trauma Survivors in order to promote Trauma Service Provision Legislation across the country.
